Cappadocia, Turkey – One of its kind place!

A Chilly morning at Cappadocia, Turkey.

We took a evening flight from Istanbul to Cappadocia. It was quite late when the shuttle picked us up from the airport, however we didn’t know that we were still a couple of hours away from our hotel. We made it to the hotel at 2:30am and got picked up for ballooning at 5am, hence we were hardly at the hotel that we picked up in after research. It was a hotel room in an ancient cave and what an experience it was.

There were winds and storms and therefore there were not balloon flights happening for the last so many days. I still wanted to take a chance and booked a trip after carefully watching the weather forcast 🙂 . We were in for a beautiful flight in a nice balloon as ours was the first flight in days that took off perfectly fine on a pristine and crisp morning. It was below zero when we reached the balloon launching site and though the balloons were being prepared for the flights the staff were not too optimistic due to continuous weather patterns changing rapidly in the last few days. In the end it flew like a charm and were able to get the full allotted time of the flight and the balloon took us about 1500 meters. To be continued….
